We’re excited to introduce a simple yet impactful game designed to help your child explore and express their feelings, beliefs, and self-perceptions.

The “Yes No Maybe Kids Value Game” is an engaging activity that aims to support children in becoming more self-aware and articulate about their emotions and choices. It’s a tool not just for fun, but for meaningful interaction that helps you as parents to understand and aid in the emotional and intellectual growth of your child.

How the Game Works

1. Setup:

Download and print out the cards.  Cut them out from the sheet of paper. Organize them by their statements.
Before playing, prepare a set of prompts based on the themes:

  • I am…
  • I love
  • I feel
  • I choose

2. Gameplay:

During each game session, focus on one category of prompts. Present each statement to your child and ask them to respond with “Yes,” “No,” or “Maybe.” This can be a verbal activity, or your child can use cards or markers to indicate their responses.

3. Discussion:

After your child responds to each prompt, take a moment to discuss their answers. Ask open-ended questions like “Why do you feel that way?” or “What makes you choose that?” This discussion is crucial as it helps your child to think deeply about their feelings and beliefs and provides you with insights into their emotional and cognitive states.

4. Reflection and Growth:

Reflect together on the responses and discuss any surprising or concerning answers. This is a chance to address any negative self-perceptions (e.g., “I am not smart”) and to encourage positive self-awareness and growth. Discuss how these perceptions might change and what steps could be taken to “upgrade” their self-image.

5. Regular Practice:

Take a picture of the game results to compare for future months to come.

Revisit this game regularly, such as monthly, to monitor changes and growth in your child’s self-perception. Adding new statements or revisiting previous ones can help track how your child’s views evolve, helping reinforce positive self-image and understanding.

Benefits of the Game

This game is more than just an activity; it’s a pathway to deeper understanding and connection with your child. It enhances self-awareness, improves communication skills, develops emotional intelligence, and supports personal growth. By engaging in regular discussions about their feelings and choices, your child learns to navigate their emotions and develop a stronger, more positive sense of self.

We hope you find the “Yes No Maybe Kids Value Game” a valuable addition to your parenting toolkit, helping your child blossom into a confident and self-aware individual.
